Summer holidays
Chalet ChouChou is available for rent in the summer months too – it’s a wonderful place to stay: quiet, sunny, fabulous views…Relax on the terrace with a book, ideal for family walks along the irrigation channels (bisses) or more strenuous hiking on the footpaths and trails; mountain biking (there’s a ‘blue’ flow trail from Savoleyres), downhill and crosscountry routes, road biking too – the road up from Riddes to La Tzoumaz is the same length and altitude gain as Alpe d’Huez – we see the pros training! In 2016 the Tour de France finished about 45 minutes from the chalet at Emosson/Finhaut, (20th July) which is a really tough mountain stage and a new finish point. We went to watch, it was a spectacular event ! La Tzoumaz is also on the route of the Tour des Stations cycling sportive/race (finishes at the Croix de Coeur, the pass between La Tzoumaz and Verbier, as well as the Grand Raid mtb race (Verbier to Grimentz).
After a day on the mountain use the sauna and jacuzzi to refresh your muscles.
Rentals in the summer are Chf 2500 per week (discounts for longer stays), plus Chf 25 for each person’s bedding and towels. The jacuzzi is charged at Chf 300 (not included in the base rental charge. Electricity is calculated on usage at the end of your stay and tourist tax is also due.

Availability/Booking
Please check availability on our calendar above. Rentals are normally Saturday to Saturday. Rentals are from 4pm on your arrival date (check in window 4 – 7pm) and we ask that you vacate the property by 10am the following week. .
Prices are shown in Swiss Francs; payments to be made in Swiss francs (Chf) by bank transfer please.

The price shown for the week includes quality bed linen and towels for up to 11 people. The price also includes the cleaning of the chalet, although we do ask that you leave the chalet tidy. Well behaved dogs are welcome, please let us know if you are planning on bringing your pet at the time of booking.
The jacuzzi is optional, if you would like to have use of it there is a charge of Chf 300. The jacuzzi will be cleaned and the water changed before your arrival, which may not be fully heated on the day of arrival.
Electricity is charged locally at 0.4 Chf per Kw. At the start and at the end of your stay we will read the electricity meter, payment in cash on departure please.
Tourist tax is payable in cash at the start of your holiday. Chf 2.50 per adult per night, Chf 1.25 per child aged 6 – 16. Younger children are free.
Firewood is usually available (to be paid locally) please indicate if required on your booking form.
On arrival we take credit card details as security in case of damage to contents &/or the chalet, or if excessive cleaning is necessary.
To confirm a reservation a 25% deposit will be required with the full sum due 8 weeks before departure.

Spring, Summer & Autumn
The chalet is available for rent year-round. The mountains are a beautiful, green, flowery & tranquil place to be in the spring and summer, in the autumn the colours of the trees make a stunning backdrop.
***VIP Pass*** Play again and again and again ! All visitors to La Tzoumaz are required to pay tourist tax and in return you receive your VIP Pass (summer only), which gives free pedestrian access to some lifts, 50% reduction with your bike and various other discounts on activities etc. Up-to-date info here : VIP pass
The village of La Tzoumaz boasts several children’s play areas – trampoline, table tennis etc in the central square, zip wire and other climbing frames just on the hillside beside this and the Espace Nature area has been developed with activities and fun for all ages; take a break for coffee and homemade cakes, snacks, local wines at the Maison de la Foret while the children play and discover the exhibitions, buy cheese made on the farm from the cows you’ll see grazing on the mountain pastures, lots of walking & hiking routes, mountain biking for the more energetic, time for relaxing outside, local vineyards for wine tasting (the wines of Valais are mostly unknown, but well worth getting to know!) and always with stunning views everywhere.

Accommodation and Description
The chalet has five bedrooms that provide space for 11 guests to sleep comfortably. As of August 2024 there is an additional en-suite in bedroom 4 and the other en-suite (to bedroom 1) as well as the family bathroom have been completed renovated.
Chalet ChouChou was built in 2011 as a lovely family chalet. Spread over 3 floors and with the bonus of a 2nd separate TV/cinema/games/kids room, it’s ideal for both families and friends! Separate entrance to boot room (boot warmer too!) /ski storage and for hiking boots. Wonderful views from lots of windows, it’s as if you are floating above the valley 1000m below. Situated in a calm and quiet area, but only a short walk from the bus stop (100m – winter only), with a 2 minute journey to the slopes. The chalet is 10 minute walk (800m) from La Tzoumaz resort centre.
There are three double bedrooms, 1 twin room and 1 triple room. Full details below. We can provide a cot or 2 as well as high chairs, no charge, we just ask that you bring your own bedding for these, and leave them clean, put away & ready for use by others.
The chalet is on 3 floors, with underfloor heating, powered by an eco-friendly air source heat pump:

Dishwasher, induction hob with builtin extractor, 2 wall mounted ovens, microwave, kettle, toaster, Nespresso machine, fridge/freezer, 2nd fridge for drinks, full range of crockery, cutlery and utensils, meat and cheese fondue set, electric raclette machine for sliced cheese.
Dining – large rectangular dining table, enough space for all 11 guests.

Bedroom 3 – triple room with 2 single beds 80 x 190cm and 1 bunk bed 80 x 190cm. Chest of drawers and cupboard. Dual aspect windows.
Bedroom 4 – twin room with en-suite shower room, 2 beds 80 x 200cm. Chest of drawers and cupboard with hangars. Huge triangular picture windows with wonderful views and smaller opening window to the front of the chalet.
Bathroom 3 – Completely new summer 2024. En-suite to Bedroom 4, shower enclosure with rain shower and 2nd flexible shower rose, WC and basin. Heated towel radiator.
Bathroom 2 – family bathroom with bath, separate shower, WC and basin. Heated towel radiator. Completely renovated summer 2024.
