Winter season – mid December to mid April

Linked directly to Verbier with a high speed gondola (winter and summer) and access into the whole 4 Vallées ski domain. The ski area boasts some of the best skiing in Europe and you can ski straight back to the village on easy blue runs, red pistes or the more challenging itinerary Valon d’Arbi.
Browse the online winter brochure here (opens in a new window) : INFO winter

From the top of the Savoleyres gondola lift station you can sledge down the 10km toboggan run through the trees back to the village, most definitely not just for the children!
Resort video: A winter day in La Tzoumaz

Fancy a change? – get out on a pair of snowshoes and take a hike into the mountains away from the crowds into a real winter wonderland. A sport that is increasing in popularity year on year. You can wander at your leisure or take a guide, the tourist office offers an evening guided walk with fondue and aperitif afterwards. More details here : Snowshoe Trails
We are lucky to have some super restaurants on the slopes of La Tzoumaz; Chez Simon, you’ll see this former cow shed / cheese farm beneath you as you take the telecabine up to Savoleyres; these days its a cosy place to stop with a lovely wood burner and homemade vin chaud.  At the top, there’s the large Savoleyres restaurant with spectacular views across to Verbier, and a creperie on the 2nd floor. Slide down the blue piste and you’ll see signs for the Croix de Coeur, surrounded by glass this restaurant benefits from 360 views. It’s also the departure point for scenic helicopter flights.   Down just above the resort centre and accessible by both piste and road is the Etablons Bar, popular throughout the day and particularly for apres ski!
We have a FunSlope in the Tailley area, part snowpark part boardercross, suitable for all ages and abilities:
Give it a go!!

The swimming pool, housed in the telecabine building, is open in the winter too, along with the sauna. A good way to relieve those tired and aching muscles. Thursdays is Roll Ball – you’ll be walking on water!
The outdoor ice rink is open every day, you can rent skates at Monnet Sports and there’s an eighties ice disco every week – don’t forget your leg-warmers!!
Throughout the week various activities are organised by the Tourist Office, see the InfoTzoumaz brochure for full details or you can download it from the website here: Resort Brochure

For more experienced skiers and boarders the options are legendary!
Head down towards Verbier, long before reaching Verbier centre and after passing the Carrefour restaurant and through the tunnel, you come to the Mayentzet 6 seat chairlift. This takes you up above Les Ruinettes in the heart of the Verbier skiing, and affords access in all directions: take the Attelas chairlift (commonly known as James Blunt); at Les Ruinettes you can take the Funispace or La Chaux Express.

The itinerary routes are not pisted or controlled at the end of the day, however they are marked and secured by the piste patrol. If a route is closed it’s because it’s dangerous, take heed and avoid putting yourself and others at risk.
